    Malaria is a life-threatening disease that is caused by Plasmodium parasites. It is transmitted to individuals through the bite of an infected female anopheles mosquito. Malaria is a tropical disease that is prevalent in Sub-Saharan African populations. There are five species of plasmodium parasites, which affect humans.
